Mark Switzer has officially been named and accepted the office of fire chief for the Clinton Fire Department.Switzer has been acting as interim Fire Chief for Clinton since February. He previously served as assistant fire chief for three and a half years.

Alleged assault suspect sought

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Frankie Don Balderas, 38, of Newcastle, following an alleged assault on his girlfriend.Officers with the Clinton Police Department were dispatched around 4:27 a.m. March 17 to a S. 11th Street location in reference to a physical domestic.

Wrecks produce two sets of injuries

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released reports of two recent crashes with direct injuries involved. According to the report filed by Trooper Kendrick Johnson, the first one occurred at approximately 12:56 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Highway 54 and 960 Road, north of Weatherford.
