Firefighter Austin Long uses a “spreader” tool to open the hood and detach the battery from this wrecked vehicle Wednesday afternoon on the corner of Gary Boulevard and 2nd Street. It was a two vehicle collision with the other vehicle being a pickup that appeared to be hit from behind. Nobody was transferred for treatment.
