Farmers Market gets underway today

The Clinton Farmers Market will be conducted every Thursday afternoon for the months of May to August with an expected expanded slate of options for people to check out.

Dr. Pepper Hernandez, part of the Clinton Farmers Market advisory team and a coordinator of the event, spoke about what the people of Clinton can possibly expect when attending. The market will be at Engleman Park on the corner of 6th Street and Frisco Avenue, every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The area will be blocked off with cones to allow for easy access of walking and shopping.

Hernandez talked about how the day to have the farmers market was very important to plan in order to give people a better chance and not work against each other. Weatherford has its farmers market on Saturday, Elk City hosts one on Tuesday, and Cordell is on Mondays once a month. “These communities all have a dedicated support system for their people. It is allowing Clintonites to show up and support their farmers, bakers, crafters, and makers,” Hernandez said.
