U.S. Navy veteran Sam Hendricks served as a jet engine mechanic in Vietnam, at a place called Bihn Tuey in the Mekong Delta.
One of the hardest things about his time there, he said, was not being sure who the enemy was.
“Our base was in a clearing surrounded by trees, and the Viet Cong would come through the jungle,” he said.
