County burn ban in effect

Custer County commissioners made the decision to enact a burn ban for the county during their Monday meeting at the Custer County Courthouse.The countywide burn ban is in effect with an initial duration of 14 days, which can be either extended or reduced by the county commissioners.

Suspect allegedly would not wake up

Joshua Wayne Cook, 34, of Elk City, was recently arrested after being allegedly found slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle near Neptune 66.Around 6:39 p.m. Feb.23, Clinton Police officers were dispatched to the location in reference to a welfare check when Cook was reported.

NEWS ALERT-County burn ban in effect

Monday morning the Custer County commissioners enacted a burn ban for the county.Under the terms of the ban signed into effect for the next 14 days, the only exclusions to the burn ban are road construction, welding, and outdoor cooking with certain specifications met.
