Two local men have been arrested in connection to a heist with an unusual score: 24 used tires, valued at $50 apiece, for a total of $1,200.

Hines gets jump start on future career

Nevin Hines, an incoming freshman at Clinton High School, recently concluded an enriching twoweek experience at the 3rd Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Indian Youth Police Academy (Class 03-25). The prestigious program, held at Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, ran from June 15 - 27 this year.

A-B set to host enrollment

Arapaho-Butler Elementary School will be hosting a Meet the Teacher and Enrollment event from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the school. The first day of school for Arapaho-Butler will be Aug. 8.

Filing period next week for council

Filing dates are rapidly approaching for the election that will determine Clinton’s Ward 1 and Ward 3 representatives.To be considered in the election, candidates must file for candidacy between 8 a.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Wednesday. Candidates may only be considered in the ward they reside in.

Minnesota man sentenced to 59 years for car crash

(AP) — A Minnesota man was sentenced to nearly 59 years Thursday for causing a crash that killed five young women who were out making preparations for a friend’s wedding.Derrick Thompson admitted his guilt for the first time and begged for forgiveness at an emotional sentencing hearing.
