Centennial grant awarded for firehouse

New life is expected to be poured into a long dormant City of Clinton asset, as the old fire station on Gary Boulvevard has been approved for a Route 66 Revitalization Grant Program grant.

Lavigne earns Congressional Award, highest youth honor

Owen Lavigne, a senior at Arapaho-Butler Schools, was awarded the Congressional Award Gold Medal for community services and personal growth. This is the highest honor a civilian youth can receive.

Arapaho-Butler School has released the names of its valedictorians and salutatorians for the Class of 2026. Valedictorians are Malley Baker, Orsan Jubara, Katherine Meacham, Lillian Roush, PiperRilee Sawatzky, and Ehimen Umobuarie. The salutatorian is Zayne Sawatzky.

An Oklahoma State Senate candidate was found dead Thursday morning after being reported missing, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.Barry Dwaine Christian, 54, of Sayre, was discovered by Beckham County deputies deceased in a vehicle around 9:45 a.m.

CO2 gun, drug paraphernalia nets alleged charges

A Clinton man was recently arrested after being found in possession of two meth pipes and a CO2 pistol following a felony conviction.Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Colby Sander was patrolling around 9:49 p.m.
