Search suspended for 5 missing crew of ship that overturned

SAIPAN, Northern Mariana Islands (AP) — The search has been suspended for five missing crew members of a cargo ship that overturned near the Northern Mariana Islands during a typhoon in the Pacific Ocean, authorities said Wednesday.Six people were aboard the 145-foot ship, called the Mariana.

NEWS ALERT- Neptune demolition extended

Neptune Drive under Interstate 40 in Clinton will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday for bridge demolition as part of ongoing work in the area. This is extended a day from the previous notification issued by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Clintonite’s stories relived during walk

Genealogical buffs often say a person’s story continues even after they die. Five of those stories were shared Monday evening at the Clinton Cemetery.The Western Plains Genealogical Society hosted a visit to five gravestones and told those stories.

Leadership made official at CFD

Mark Switzer has officially been named and accepted the office of fire chief for the Clinton Fire Department.Switzer has been acting as interim Fire Chief for Clinton since February. He previously served as assistant fire chief for three and a half years.
