Former FedEx driver pleads guilty to killing 7-year-old girl

DALLAS (AP) — A former FedEx driver pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing a 7-year-old girl after delivering a Christmas gift to her Texas home, where he told authorities he accidentally struck her with his van and then strangled her in a fit of panic.

Community to come together to clean up Joe Baker Park

A community restoration event is planned for 8 a.m. Saturday at Joe Baker Park, located at 717 S. Glenn Smith Rd. The group invites everybody to help paint, assist cleaning, or even just to hang out and talk about the park.The event is being led by the local nonprofit group Unity in the Community.

Company, two groups receive affirmation

“Opportunity” would be a word of choice regarding a few of the topics covered at Tuesday night’s Clinton City Council meeting. A local business was approved for purchase of two industrial lots for expansion, and two groups received grant funding for upcoming events.
