Lightning strike causes CIC fire

Clinton citizens could whiff a strong smell of fire Saturday evening originating from a blaze where lightning struck a power pole and started a fire at the Commerce Industrial Center (CIC) near Clinton Cemetery, south of town.It was all part of a busy night for the Clinton Fire Department.

Erick man hurt in crash

An Erick man was injured in a singlevehicle accident Sunday evening on Interstate 40, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.Trooper Darrell Splawn’s report states at approximately 6:25 p.m. Sunday, Jose M.Gonzalez Neri, 50, of Erick, was traveling westbound on I-40 at mile marker 32.

Silver Alert issued for man seen here

A silver alert has been issued for 61-year-old Michael Carter, who was last seen in Clinton on May 6 and has been reported missing. As of press time, the investigation is still ongoing, and individuals who may have seen Carter are encouraged to contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
