CLINTON – Red Tornado baseball opened the I-40 Classic Thursday with a 5-0 win over Kingfisher.
In the first inning, Powell tripled and scored Grady Gaunt for Clinton’s first run.
Gaunt previously walked to leadoff the inning.
Powell later stole home for a 2-0 Red Tornado advantage.
In the fourth inning, Kyler Carlisle’s ground out allowed DeAndre Fanisher to score, extending Clinton’s lead to 3-0.
