Clinton Fire Chief Brett Russell’s enthusiasm for fireworks has waned over the years, as each Fourth of July is accompanied by waves of grassfires and injuries caused by illegal firework use. As first responders, members of the fire department as well as local police are the first to see – and try to contain – damage caused by these accidents.
“I’ve seen it all in the last 27 years,” said Russell.
