Despite finding itself down two touchdowns twice in the game Friday in Kingfisher, the Clinton Red Tornado football team (0-2) managed to fight back both times before falling in the extra period 35-28 to the Yellowjackets.
For acting coach Gene Ray, he said he takes full responsibility for the beginning of the game, but was happy to see his guys fight to stay in the game.
“I put us in the hole early tonight,” he said. “I have to get us off to a great start in games this season. Everything they got tonight, I thought we gave them. I do feel like we hung in there together and things would go our way. I think we are going to be alright after seeing the fight in our kids tonight.”
