Clinton wins; forced to forfeit contest

Despite performing well on the field Friday night, the Clinton Red Tornadoes (4-6, 4-3) were forced to forfeit the game against the Douglass Trojans (4-6,1-6) due to an ineligible player getting into the game, which pushed the team to fourth in the Division 4A-1 standings instead of finishing as runner-up.

News of the forfeited contest broke Saturday, Coach John Higbee would not comment on the ruling by the OSSAA.

Prior to finding out an ineligible player got into the game, and they had to forfeit the contest, Higbee said he was impressed with his team’s finish during the game Friday night.
