Local MGA Chapter sets up college scholarship

In a different attempt to give back to the community, the Clinton Chapter of the Men’s Golf Association is setting up a scholarship for high school seniors who use Riverside Golf Course as their home course during the season.

For Joe Williams, VP of the Clinton Chapter of the MGA, he said they have been trying to figure out a way to get back to helping out local high school golfers.

“In the past, we have always tried to give back to the community and do something for the students,” he said. “We used to buy their golf bags, but COVID and kind of everything that was going on at the golf course changed that over the last few years. So, this year we are going to start a boys’ and girls’ golf scholarship. It will be $500 a piece and the student has to be a senior and call Riverside their home course. So, that means it is open to Clinton, Arapaho-Butler and Corn Bible Academy. We will have more requirements for this, but they will be on the application process.
