Mike Carl Gastineau, 72, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on July 9, 2026, in Fort Worth, just three days after celebrating his 72nd birthday with those he loved. Mike was born on July 6, 1954, in Clinton, Oklahoma, to Glenn and Sue Gastineau.
Mike was raised in Clinton, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and the outdoors while spending time on the family farm. As a young man, he became actively involved in Boy Scouts, an organization that would shape much of his life. Through dedication and perseverance, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an achievement of which he remained especially proud.
Following his graduation from Clinton High School in 1972, Mike attended Oklahoma State University, where he earned a degree in Fire Safety in 1979. That same year, he married the love of his life, Marti Gordhamer, in May of 1979. Together they built a loving home and raised two sons, Tyler and Wesley.
Throughout his career, Mike worked for several companies, including Phillips 66 and FedEx, opportunities that eventually led him and his family to settle in Fort Worth, Texas. While he was dedicated to his profession, his greatest joy was found in his family and his lifelong involvement in Scouting.
Mike shared his passion for Scouting with his sons and devoted countless hours to mentoring young people. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 205 and later became active in the Order of the Arrow alongside his family and fellow Scouts. One of his favorite places on earth was Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, where he completed three treks and created memories that lasted a lifetime. Over the years, Mike helped numerous young men earn the rank of Eagle Scout, leaving a lasting impact on generations of Scouts.
Those who knew Mike understood that Scouting was more than a hobby — it was a way of life. He sought to live each day according to the principles of the Scout Law, striving to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, kind, and faithful in all that he did. His steady example, servant’s heart, and willingness to invest in others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Sue Gastineau; his brother, Kirk Gastineau; and nephew, Stephen Gastineau.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Marti Gastineau of Fort Worth, Texas; his sons, Tyler Gastineau and wife Kimberly of Argyle, Texas, and Wesley Gastineau and wife Amber of Lumberton, Mississippi; his five beloved grandchildren, Carli, Thomas, Jack, Slade, and Lilliana; his brother, Joe Gastineau and wife Cheri of Clinton, Oklahoma; as well as his nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and many dear friends.
Mike’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the Scouts he mentored, and the countless lives he touched through his example of service, integrity, and dedication. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
