Richard Leon Morrison Jr., 77, a proud resident of the Clinton Veterans Center and a devoted veteran, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Clinton VA Center.
Born on June 9, 1948, in Oklahoma City to Richard and Opal (Anderson) Morrison Sr., Richard Leon Morrison Jr. was raised in the Oklahoma City area. After graduating in 1966, he answered the call of duty by joining the US Army during the Vietnam Era, a service that underscored his lifelong dedication to his country.
Richard had a claim to fame. He wrote the popular Mathis Brothers Jingle that is still used today. He also played piano and keyboard. He was known for a witty sense of humor that came across as almost childlike, and he was a sly bingo aficionado.
