Shirley Kaye Hoffman was born on August 13, 1948, to Artie Lee Brown and Bertha Oletta Brown in Borger, TX. She passed away Monday, September 21, 2026 in Clinton, AR. She graduated from Berlin, OK and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she met her husband.
She married Randall (Randy) Lynn Hoffman on November 28, 1969, in Custer City, OK. After a few moves, due to Randy’s railroad job, they settled in Custer City where they would raise their family. Shirley worked as a clerk at the city office and then started working as a cook at Custer City Public Schools. During her years at the school, everyone came to know and love her as “Aunt Shirley”. Her love for the students shined through the delicious meals she prepared for every student.
Following the death of her husband in 2003, she moved to Quitman, Arkansas where she worked at Johnson Pharmacy until she retired in 2022.
There was rarely an event she would miss when it came to her kids and then granddaughters’ sporting events. She was a perma-nent fixture with her chair right by the fence at their softball games. She was also known to show up super early to basketball games to get just the right seat. She traveled all around the state to watch them play sports and loved every minute of it.
When she would find out her grandson, Cody, was coming to visit, you would think the president of the United States was coming over by her excitement. She also looked forward to her summer trips to Colorado with her grandson Cody. She loved her grandkids with everything she had.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister (Barbara Williams), and her son-in-law (Kenny Blakley).
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Todd Hoffman of Enid, OK; Robyn Hoffman of Sherwood, AR; and Michelle Blakley of Quitman, AR. Grandchildren Cody Hoffman of Salina, KS; Aspen Johnson of Conway, AR; Autumn Moore (Talon) of Greenbrier, AR; and Alex Johnson of Fayetteville, AR. Also, a great-grandson on the way, Madden Tate Moore. Her sister, Twyla (Tim) Cobb of Piedmont, OK; brother, Mike (Ferina) Brown of Bentonville, AR; brother-in-law Rex (Dorothy) Hoffman of Custer City, OK; sister-in-law Susie (Mike) Stanfill of Clarksville, TN; and Rita (Lonnie) Fergason of Clinton, OK.
