Viola Rose Creswell, 86, longtime resident of Clinton, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Weatherford Regional Hospital.
Viola was born on July 7, 1938, in Roscoe, Texas, to John and Mary (Kuss) Roemisch. She was raised in Hermleigh, Texas, and graduated from Hermleigh High School with the Class of 1956. On August 16, 1958, she married the love of her life, Roy “Mert” Creswell, in Snyder, Texas. Their life together was a true partnership—moving from place to place while following work in the oil field, before settling in Clinton in 1978, where they made their forever home.
A devoted homemaker— a role she cherished deeply— Viola also held a variety of small jobs around Clinton, including a position at Bluck’s Studios. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a proud supporter of the Clinton community.
