The Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles (1-1) struggled at home Friday, as the football team fell 54-0 in two quarters to the visiting Cyril Pirates.
When discussing the positive part of a rough outing, Coach Jason Jones said he loved the fact that his older players held a meeting with their teammates after the game to talk about how to get better.
“My best thought after that game is the fact that once we got back into the locker room, the leadership continued to show,” he said. “We talked to them first, but after we were done and walked into the coaches’ office, some of the upperclassmen had their own little meeting with the guys and they were just talking about effort and doing the little things right.
