Lady Indians advance to next round in state

Entering the biggest part of the season, the Class A State Softball Tournament, the Arapaho-Butler Lady Indians (31-8-1) took care of business against the Shattuck Lady Indians, winning 11-1 in five innings Thursday at Devon Park to advance to the next round.

As he thought about where his girls are in the season, Coach Luke Thompson said his girls are used to getting here and it showed on the field with their play.

“We have reached this point for the fifth year in a row,” he said. “So, our girls are comfortable in this environment and it showed today. We came out like it was just another game and I thought we had a good game plan at the plate and that we executed it well. We have seen this pitcher once and just kind of had a decent feel for what we were going to see at the plate. I thought our girls did a great job of executing it today.
