Lady Reds basketball celebrates 50th anniversary

Once the season tips off, it will mark the 50th season since CHS Lady Reds basketball was restarted.

Former Lady Reds player Carla (Smith) Moore has seen the team grow from the beginning as her mom was the first coach in the restart.

“In the summer of 1972, my family was in Colorado on our yearly family vacation,” she said.

“My mom (Carolyn Smith) received a phone call from the superintendent.
