ELGIN – Clinton Middle School track and field had a successful afternoon at the Elgin Owl Classic Friday.
Atticus Thompson obliterated the CMS boys’ long jump record by four feet.
Thompson turned in a 21’1”, beating the previous record of 17’1”. His jump was two feet further than second place.
Thompson claimed gold in the 800M with a 54.64, beating the competition by two seconds.
