Clinton hoops gets swept in weekend contest

In a weekend edition of high school basketball, both Clinton teams fell to rival Elk City Saturday in the Tornado Dome.The Reds (4-17) fought to get the win against the Elks, but fell just short, as Elk City won 47-45.

The Clinton High School Dance team headed last weekend to Orlando, Fla., and competed in the Universal Dance Association National Competition, where they finished 11th in the prelims.

A-B hoops sweeps Hinton during Ring Night

On the night where Arapaho-Butler’s fast-pitch softball team was receiving their 2025 Class A State Championship rings, both basketball teams flexed their muscles to sweep the Hinton Comets on the hardwood for the final home game of the regular season.

Powers meets with community at luncheon

For his first public speaking moment as the new football coach for Clinton, Trevor Powers, came to the member’s luncheon for the Chamber of Commerce Monday at the Frisco Center.In his opening address to the chamber, Powers talked about his history.“I have been coaching for 13 years,” he said.

Clinton wrestling sees success in annual tourney

Over the weekend, both of the Clinton wrestling teams took part in the annual Hub City Wrestling Tournament at the Tornado Dome.For Coach Rhett Blundell, he said he was proud of all of his athletes and how they performed during the multi-day event.
