After opening the Kingfisher Tournament with two losses Thursday, the Clinton High School baseball team bounced back Friday with an 8-0 win over Pauls Valley.The Reds (10-8) took on Guthrie in the first contest Thursday and suffered a 9-6 defeat to the Bluejays.

Class 2A No. 4 Arapaho-Butler played host to Hobart Thursday and came away with a 5-2 victory where the Lady Indians showed off their defensive prowess.The game started for Hobart with a tell-tale sign of things to come.

CHS tennis athletes compete

Tuesday a handful of Clinton High School tennis players competed in the Pauls Valley Tournament at the OKC Tennis Center.Clinton had three entrants in the event, and all of them placed within the top four finishers.“It went pretty well,” said Coach Phil Veazey.

Clinton soccer teams blank Elk City

The Lady Reds and Red Tornadoes started district play with wins against Elk City Tuesday evening at the Tornado Bowl.Both teams registered shutouts over the Elks.

The Red Tornado golfers competed Friday in the Weatherford Tournament and picked up some course experience in the process.Clinton shot 379 as a team, and Coach Mike Lee talked about how the team fared in its outing.“A couple of them played decent,” he said.
