NEWS ALERT - TONIGHT'S GAME CANCELLED, CLINTON ADVANCES

Clinton's second-round playoff game tonight versus Ada has been cancelled due to COVID-19. No. 9 Clinton (6-3 overall) will advance to the Class 4A quarterfinals, where it will meet the winner of No. 3 Poteau (8-2) and Skiatook (6-3).

Maley finds success through adversity

A classic awaits CHS in second round

It’s the gridiron matchup that conjures up images of teams hoisting gold balls over and over and over again – Clinton versus Ada. The No. 9 Red Tornadoes (6-3 overall) host the Cougars (5-4) at 7 p.m. Friday, in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.

A-B boys stay unbeaten, girls suffer first loss

ARNETT – Undefeated starts are a trend at this point for the Arapaho-Butler boys’ basketball team, and it improved to a 3-0 start with a blowout, 75-38 win at Arnett Friday night. It’s the fourth-straight season that the A-B boys have started off at least 3-0.

Blackburn wins fourth FB contest

Mike Blackburn of Clinton won this week’s S&D Drug football pick ‘ems contest. Blackburn selected a perfect, nine-ofnine games correctly to nab his fourth contest win of the 2020 season. Blackburn correctly picked West Virginia to defeat TCU and was one of the only contestants to do so.

Area teams end year

Corn Bible Academy senior quarterback Brendan Miller, pictured, and the Crusaders (1-9 overall) saw their season end, with a 60-26 loss at Maysville, in the opening round of the playoffs. Burns Flat-Dill City’s season came to an end Friday as well, losing its first-round game at Cordell, 43-22.
