CMS football's opener moves home

Clinton Middle School football's seventh and eighth grade teams were scheduled to open their seasons at Cache Thursday, but the games are now going to be hosted by the Whirlwinds at the Tornado Bowl. The seventh grade football team will kick off the season at 4:30p.m.

Reserved football tickets on sale Monday

Clinton football reserved seat tickets for the upcoming, 2020 season go on sale Monday, Aug. 31. The cost is $35 a ticket and will be sold at the high school in Athletic Director Eugene Jefferson's office. Previous year's ticket holders have until 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3 to purchase their tickets.

Reds ranked No. 11

The Oklahoman released its preseason football rankings for Class 4A this week and placed the Clinton Red Tornadoes just outside the top-10 at No. 11. The Reds are coming off a 6-5 season and a firstround playoff exit.

Bryson makes all-state squad

In addition to the rankings being released this week, The Oklahoman also released its preseason Class 4A All-State squad as well, and it featured Clinton star running back Atrel Bryson on it. Bryson and Kynel Daniels of Cache are the two backs listed.
