ALTUS – Two days after the Westwood Tournament, both of the Clinton tennis teams jumped up a few spots in team placing at the Altus Tourney Thursday.

Sports’ status same

No new word came down from OSSAA about postponements or cancellations due to the concern over COVID-19. The message posted on the association’s website Thursday remains there, as of press time Monday.

NEWS ALERT - SPRING SPORTS CANCELLED UNTIL APRIL 6TH

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) voted in an emergency meeting Monday to close all Oklahoma schools until April 6th due to concern over COVID-19 (Coronavirus). This means athletics will also be shutdown until that date as well.

Reds open year with walk-off win over Elks

The route to an opening day win Thursday night at home, for the Clinton baseball team (1-0 overall, 1-0 in district) wasn’t the easiest by any means. Leading from the first inning on, the Reds escaped scares with ace Manning McAtee on the mound.

CHS competes in drought-ending home meet

Amidst the swirling cancellations of other sporting events across the state and beyond, Clinton track hosted its first home track meet in nearly three decades Thursday. Clinton head track coach Cory Strahorn did his due diligence on hosting the meet.

CHS competes in fierce first tourney

NORMAN – Jumping right into the elite competition, the Clinton tennis program opened its season at one of the toughest events of the year Tuesday at the Westwood Tournament. Multiple class 6A, 5A and elite 4A teams participated, so it was a great early test to get the year started.
