OK 8U Baseball Tourney starts today in Clinton

For the second straight week, the town of Clinton is at the center of 8U sports in the state of Oklahoma with the OK Kids 8U State Baseball Tournament being held starting today at Schumacher Fields at Acme Brick Park.

As the Clinton Reds baseball team (7-5) continues to improve as a unit, it hit a bump in the road with an 11-5 loss to the Canute Trojans at home Tuesday evening.

Even though he just celebrated graduating from high school, former Clinton thrower Wyatt Willoughby was able to compete one last time before heading off to college, as he performed in the Nike Outdoor Nationals over the weekend in Eugene, Ore., where he received All-American honors in discus.

The Canute Trojanettes were crowned the 2025 OK Kids 8U Softball State Champions Saturday when they defeated the Elk City Pink Sox 7-6 at Schumacher Fields at Acme Brick Park. They finished the year with a record of 36-4.

Clinton’s Willoughby named All-American

Over the weekend, recent Clinton grad, Wyatt Willioughby, was named an All-American after finishing top-10 in the discus event during the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Ore.Willoughby set a new personal best with a throw of 180 feet, 10 inches to claim the final honor of his high school career.

A-B 8U softball team looks to build for next year

While they might not have finished where they wanted to during the OK Kids 8U State Softball Tournament at the end of last week at Schumacher Fields at Acme Brick Park, the Arapaho-Butler Lady Indians 8U softball team gained valuable experience to use next season.
