Arapaho-Butler gains experience from summer ball

Despite only winning five games during its nine-game summer schedule, the Arapaho-Butler Indians baseball team gained skills to help during the fall season.Looking back over the summer season, Coach Bryan Holt said he was able to plug guys in at different places to get the chance to play.

Overall fishing reported to be slow

According to the fishing report from Custer County Game Warden Clint Carpenter, on June 21 the water at Foss Lake registered at .5 feet above its normal elevation level, but it also remained in stable condition.The water was clear with the temperatures staying around 75°F throughout the entire lake.

OK 8U Baseball Tourney starts today in Clinton

For the second straight week, the town of Clinton is at the center of 8U sports in the state of Oklahoma with the OK Kids 8U State Baseball Tournament being held starting today at Schumacher Fields at Acme Brick Park.

As the Clinton Reds baseball team (7-5) continues to improve as a unit, it hit a bump in the road with an 11-5 loss to the Canute Trojans at home Tuesday evening.

The Canute Trojanettes were crowned the 2025 OK Kids 8U Softball State Champions Saturday when they defeated the Elk City Pink Sox 7-6 at Schumacher Fields at Acme Brick Park. They finished the year with a record of 36-4.
