Several events across the state have been cancelled, OSU Ext. Director Larry Bryen reported at Monday’s meeting of the Custer County commissioners, thanks to a highly contagious virus in horses called equine herpesvirus myeloencephalopathy (EHM) which is caused by equid alphaherpesvirus 1, or EHV-1.
