Lawyers seek release date after conviction is overturned

(AP) — Lawyers for a man whose conviction in the 1979 disappearance of 6-year-old Etan Patz was recently overturned asked a judge on Tuesday to set a date for his release from prison if prosecutors don’t decide soon to hold a new trial.

Local police are currently investigating a string of auto burglaries that occurred last week in the areas of S. 24th Street and Sherwood Road.While Clinton Police officers do not have anyone in custody at this time, several suspects are currently being looked into.

Howl-O-Ween event to help dog pound

Clinton’s Howl-O-Ween Trunk or Treat Fundraiser will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 100 N. 30th St., and admission is free. Events will include a car show, pet adoption event, and pumpkin decorating contest.
