Council gives approval for roof repairs

Patch a roof – sell a hospital. That is the goal the Clinton City Council set in motion Thursday evening when the council approved a written quote to make repairs to Clinton Regional Hospital in order for Rural Hospital Solutions to take over ownership and have the facility insured.

Custer Co. first in foreign-owned land

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Custer County has the highest percentage of foreignowned farmlands in the state of Oklahoma.The USDA registers 30.84% or 197,769.27 acres (309.01 square miles) in Custer County as being owned by foreign farmland owners.

REDS 365 future in doubt

The Clinton Public Schools REDS 365 program had its funds from federal grants withheld earlier this month, leading to uncertainty if the program will be able to exist come the start of the fast-approaching school year.

Interns learning financial strategies

A local finance advisement company is doing its part to encourage the next generation of financial advisors. GIBCO Capital Advisors currently has six interns, who are learning investment essentials including financial literacy, terminology, research, public speaking, and office decorum.

Pool pump replaced

A new pump has been installed at the Clinton Municipal Pool, but the pool isn’t quite ready for the public yet, according to City Manager Robert Johnston. The pump arrived Wednesday evening and was installed late Thursday afternoon.
