Dwayne Funk served during Vietnam War

Dwayne Funk was drafted into the Army at the age of 19 and selected to go into the Air Force. He served from 1970-1974, during the Vietnam War.Funk completed basic training in 1970 at the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

Barton did two tours in Vietnam

Rural Arapaho resident Jim R. Barton enlisted in the volunteer regular Army in 1963 and served until 1966. He also volunteered for airborne training when he joined up.During his time in the service, Barton did two tours in Vietnam, spending 19 months in-country.

U.S. Navy veteran Sam Hendricks served as a jet engine mechanic in Vietnam, at a place called Bihn Tuey in the Mekong Delta.One of the hardest things about his time there, he said, was not being sure who the enemy was.
