Red Tornado soccer clips Eagles’ wings in ‘Conflict’

Rivalry is a big part of sports and in western Oklahoma, the “Custer County Conflict” is up there with some of the best, as Clinton soccer faced off against Weatherford on the road Tuesday.The Reds (6-2) overcame an early 1-0 deficit to take down the Eagles, 4-2.

Clinton boys’ golf tees off season at home

With the weather warming up, the Clinton Reds golf team is hitting the course as it prepares to compete this season.For Coach Brent Caldwell, he said there is a lot to be thrilled about when it comes to this year for his team.“There is a lot of excitement for our program this season,” he said.

Coach Powers settling into his new position

After being hired in January to take over the Clinton football program, the Trevor Powers era began last week as he prepares to build the team in his image.Looking back on his first week working at Clinton, Powers said he has enjoyed every moment of it.“It was great,” he said.

Clinton golfers finish second at Weatherford

As the Clinton Lady Reds golf team moves through the season, it found early success at Weatherford Thursday, as the team finished second with a score of 349.For Coach Tasha Marshall, she said she was impressed with how her girls didn’t let the previous tournament hold them down.

Clinton Reds falls to Kingfisher in I-40 Festival

During the second day of the annual I-40 Baseball Festival, the Clinton Reds (5-9) fell to Kingfisher, 7-5.Looking at how his team performed, Coach Kelly Gaunt said that despite the score, he saw a much better effort from his players.“We played better today,” he said.

Clinton uses strong second halves in Classen sweep

After being tied or behind at the halftime break in both the girls’ and boys’ soccer games Thursday in the Tornado Bowl, both Clinton soccer teams pulled out wins.The Lady Reds (3-3) shut out Classen in the second half for the 5-2 win.

Clinton senior looking to follow in family’s footsteps

In his final year as a member of the Clinton Reds baseball program, senior catcher Vince Jones is focused on leaving the program in a better place before he graduates this year.For Jones, he said being a part of the Clinton Reds baseball team is like being a member of a close-knit group.
