ENID – The 18thranked Clinton Red Tornadoes had little trouble returning to the win column Saturday as they won 84-49 over Western Heights.Clinton started the game with a 5-0 deficit. Caden Powell scored the first two points for Clinton to get the offense rolling.

Lady Reds fall to No. 4 Weatherford

ENID – The Clinton Lady Reds were unable to keep pace with No. 4 Weatherford Saturday, losing 54-34.Weatherford jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before Carmella Jefferson buried a step-back three-pointer to cut the Eagles’ to 4-3.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Clinton junior Trey Bennett earned a second place finish Saturday at the Class 4A State Wrestling Tournament.“Trey believed in himself, and I for sure believe in him,” Clinton head coach Shawn Finch said. “He went out and handled his competition. He wrestled tough in the finals.

No. 19 Lady Bulldogs roll vs SNU, 71-55

BETHANY – The 19th-ranked Southwestern Oklahoma State Lady Bulldogs cruised to their 11th consecutive victory Saturday with a 71-55 win over Southern Nazarene.SWOSU outscored the Crimson Storm 41-26 in the first two quarters.

BETHANY – Southwestern Oklahoma State men’s basketball was unable to keep pace with Southern Nazarene Saturday losing their final regular season matchup 82-63.In the first half, the Dawgs shot 37% from the field but dealt with an SNU team that shot 55% and knocked down 7-for-14 from beyond the arc.

ENID – The Class A No. 12 Arapaho-Butler Lady Indians ended their 2021-2022 campaign Saturday with a 51-41 setback to Laverne.Haley Cordes knocked down a trey to give Arapaho-Butler an early 3-0 lead 15 seconds into regulation. Cordes finished with seven points.

Hester nets 13, Lady Jets best Seminole St.

ENID – The Nothern Oklahoma College-Enid Lady Jets outlasted Seminole State 64-57 on Sophomore Day Saturday afternoon.Clinton graduate Aleisha Hester led four Lady Jets in double figures with 13 points.Libbi Zinn and Tegan Jones added 12 points while Jade Hazelbaker chipped in 11 points.

No. 5 Indians hold off Seiling

ENID – Fifthranked Arapaho-Butler held off Seiling’s fourth quarter run to advance in the area playoffs with a 43-42 victory over No.11 Seiling to advance in the Class A playoffs.

Gaunt belts fourth homer, USAO splits
