It took some time to stabilize, but the Clinton baseball team (11-6-1 overall) is finding its winning formula in the closing games of the 2021 summer campaign. The Reds have won six of their last seven games and tied the other contest, dating back to June 11.

Clinton Preps complete year with win

A summer season filled with winning came to a walkoff conclusion for the Clinton Preps baseball team (16-4 overall), defeating Elk City on the final at-bat, 6-5, Monday night at home. The Preps were tied with the Elks, 5-5, heading into the bottom of the sixth inning.

In each of the past two weekends, Clinton and the surrounding areas showed how much CHS head baseball coach Kelly Gaunt means to them, donating time and money at recent fundraising tournaments. Gaunt was diagnosed with throat cancer earlier this year and coached through the 2021 campaign with it.
