Indians finish first season at state

In its inaugural season at Arapaho-Butler High School, the track team qualified three spots for the Class A state meet at regionals in Cherokee and placed others. The 4x800-meter relay team, Addison Friesen and Carson Kinder all reached Saturday’s state meet in their respective events at Cherokee.

Clinton to see elite teams in semis

Both opponents don’t get much better than what the Clinton soccer teams will face at 6 p.m. tonight in the Class 4A semifinals. The Lady Reds (13-3 overall) are making their sixth-straight semifinals appearance.

Clinton secures semifinal spots

A quarterfinals’ wall kept the Clinton boys’ soccer team (16-0 overall) out of the Class 4A semifinals for five seasons (not including the 2020, COVID-19 season), but the Reds took a bulldozer to it Thursday night at home, leading wire-to-wire in a, 6-1, home, win over Madill to end the drought.

Reds’ season ends at regional tourney

BLANCHARD – A season where the Clinton baseball team (18-15 overall) battled back from numerous tough spots came to a close at the regional tournament Thursday at Blanchard. The Reds kept Kingfisher (24-11) in their sights in game one but failed to drum up any runs in a 3-0 loss.

Coleman places in top-15 at state

CUSHING – Clinton senior golfer Loren Coleman went the distance, as she made the state tournament and also finished with one of the top placings in all of Class 4A, earning 14th out of 74 players in attendance Thursday at Buffalo Rock Golf Course.

Herrera helps keep CHS near the top

A lot was asked of Clinton soccer senior forward Cassidy Herrera for the 2021 season, not only was she returning from a torn ACL that she suffered in 2019, but also she had to become a leader for a program that graduated the greatest senior class in program history.

Lime’s love of softball shows in consistent work

Across her four high school years, Clinton senior softball pitcher McKenna Lime participated in every season of high school softball, and she is the definition of a stalwart player. She played all four fast-pitch seasons, including starting for the final three in the circle.
