Bryson named to OCA All-State team

There’s no doubt that the Clinton football team wouldn’t have made its state championship runner-up run without senior star running back/free safety Atrel Bryson, and the Oklahoma Coaches Association acknowledged that, honoring him with an All-State West roster spot at running back.

Clinton ties for second at Hub

A few weeks removed from narrow district losses to Cache and Weatherford, the Clinton wrestling team proved it was better than its initial performances, earning a second-place tie with Weatherford at the Hub City Tournament this weekend, while defeating the Bulldogs by one point.

Reds split home, three-team dual

A 14-point lead heading into the final three weights faded, as the Clinton wrestling team (1-3 overall) fell to No. 11 Newcastle, 37-33, and then bounced back to beat an undermanned Kingfisher squad, 51-18, in a three-team dual Thursday at the Tornado Dome.

Area sports update

The Clinton High School wrestling team commences its annual Hub City Classic at 11 a.m. today. The tourney will start at the same time on day two. The classic features 13 teams, including Class 3A, No. 1 Marlow, 4A, No. 10 Cache and 4A, No. 12 Weatherford.

Kauk embodies role player mindset for CHS

Successful seasons and eras require players that’ll do whatever is asked of them and play their role to the maximum, and that’s Clinton boys’ basketball senior forward Grant Kauk. Clinton is 25-15 over the last two years, with a top-16 finish in 2019-2020.
