At this point, the Clinton basketball teams are beginning to hit midseason form with six games under their belts and numerous practice/ scrimmage reps, however the teams played just one game each before Christmas break – that’ll change in a hurry this week. CHS returns to play at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.

In a press release, Clinton Public Schools announced Monday that tickets will be limited for all extracurricular activities, after Governor Kevin Stitt filed the Eighth Amended Executive Order 2020-20. The order is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clinton wrestlers Mason Taylor, top photo, and Trey Bennett, bottom photo, performed well in their first action of the year. Taylor had a winning record through his early matches, before an injury forced him to leave the Weatherford Tourney. He was on track to place well.

Winter sports rankings

There are four teams that’re ranked between Clinton and Arapaho-Butler heading into the post-Christmas winter athletic schedule. Clinton wrestling is currently ranked No. 19 in Class 4A but has wrestled in just one tournament and zero duals so far.
