CHS wins two to open summer play

HOBART – Summer exhibition play couldn’t have gotten off to a better start for the Clinton fastpitch softball team (2-0 overall), winning via shutout in its first two games of the Hobart League Monday afternoon. The Lady Reds beat Duke in a drop-dead, five-inning contest, 8-0.

Cisneros returns to baseball

From catching passes and blocking defenders to hitting home runs and pitching shutouts, 2019 Clinton graduate Valek Cisneros is making the transition from college football tight end, a.k.a.

Football ranks 20th

The Clinton football team sits at No. 20 in Maxpreps’ annual alltime winningest football program rankings with 816 wins. The Reds are also the No. 1 ranked Oklahoma team.

A-B brings back deep roster

Wednesday the Arapaho-Butler baseball team will come back together for the first time since the spring baseball season was shut down back in early March due to the coronavirus pandemic. A-B closed everything down until July 1, taking precautions to keep the virus away.

CHS prepping before first practice

A new era started for the Clinton volleyball team, when its five senior starters graduated off last year’s squad. The team’s starting middle, outside hitter, right-side hitter, setter and defensive specialist off the last two regional finalist teams (2017 and 2018) are gone.

OU rises up with commit

The recent commitment of the Class of 2021’s No. 1 QB, Caleb Williams, moved the University of Oklahoma football team up to No. 15 on 247Sports recruiting rankings. The Sooners moved up two spots.

OSSAA workshop set

OSSAA’s annual eligibility workshop, like many meetings over the past few months, will be held via Zoom call at 10 a.m. July 28. The workshop is another step toward the normal fall schedule from past years. It will lay out what is required for students to be eligible this fall.

Fernandez signs with Rose State

Defenses aren’t getting rid of Clinton soccer’s dynamic duo yet. The Lady Reds’ all-time leading scorer Macey Fernandez announced that she’s joining Aubrey Gonzales at Rose State College. The Raiders are adding another elite high school player.
