CHS football gets back to action

Another step forward to normalcy occurred Monday morning, when the Clinton football team stepped back into the weight room and onto the Tornado Bowl turf to begin offseason workouts. It’s the first Clinton athletic event in nearly three months.

SWOSU’s schedule changes

The Great American Conference (GAC) announced a change in football scheduling Monday. According to swosuathletics.com, the conference altered all member schedules to have 10 games now, instead of the usual 11 contests.

CHS softball sets summer return plan

Joining football in its return to workouts Monday, will be the Clinton softball team. In previous seasons, the Lady Reds would already be rolling through their summer slate of games and workouts. The COVID-19 pandemic halted usual operations.

Top returners for softball

The 2020 fast-pitch season is not a guarantee, as sports slowly return to work in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Should play resume to normal and the players get back on the field, the Lady Reds returns some key players for the fall.

When the OSSAA put the decision to return to summer sports in the hands of individual school districts last week, it opened up the possibility for Clinton athletics and other area schools to get back to work, after months of shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Clinton clean sweep of the Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association (OSCA) All-State soccer team was officially announced Wednesday. Six total spots, three boys and three girls, are able to make the All-State rosters between both teams, and Clinton placed three seniors on each side.
