Clinton girls’ golf headed back to state tourney

As they hunt for a state title, the Clinton Lady Reds golf team punched its ticket to the Class 4A State Golf Tournament after finishing second in the Class 4A Regional Tournament in Elk City.

Fishing reported to be fair throughout Foss Lake

According to the fishing report from Custer County Game Warden Clint Carpenter, on April 20 the water at Foss Lake remained at 3 feet below its normal elevation level, and it also remained in stable condition.The water was clear with the temperature around 55°F throughout the lake.

Clinton boys finish second at conference track meet

As they continue to hunt for postseason action, both Clinton track and field teams headed to Chickasha Tuesday to participate in the Western Conference track meet.The boys’ team finished second with 130 points, while the girls finished eighth with 36 points.

Clinton blows Douglass away on Senior Night

As they looked to celebrate the seniors who helped build up the programs, Clinton only needed the first half in each game to defeat Douglass Tuesday in the Tornado Bowl.The Red Tornadoes (8-5) started slow, but were able to score in droves and take down the Trojans 15-0.

Clinton’s Cummins signs with Seminole State

As she prepares to conclude her final year of golf with the Clinton Lady Reds, Rylee Cummins has put pen to paper and will be a member of the Seminole State Lady Trojans next year.For Cummins, she said she is has been training for this moment and is ready to take her game to the next level.

Reds baseball falls to Kingfisher to end home schedule

On the day dedicated to celebrating the departing senior players, the Clinton Reds baseball team (5-18) fell 12-8 to the Kingfisher Yellowjackets after overcoming an early 6-0 deficit.

Clinton and A-B face off in ‘Battle for 183’

With the regular season nearing its conclusion, the Clinton Reds (5-17) and Arapaho-Butler Indians (19-5) squared off Friday in Arapaho for supremacy of U.S. Highway 183, with the Indians coming out on top 5-0 over the Reds.

Lady Reds takes first in conference tourney

In its second trip to the Prairie West Golf Course in Weatherford this season, the Lady Reds golf team took first in the conference tournament Wednesday with an overall score of 339.Addyson Littke led the way for the team, as she carded an 81 for the day, which also gave her third individually.

Powell earns top-play

Former Clinton Reds baseball player Caden Powell, now in the Houston Astros farm system as a member of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, was recently featured on Sportscenter’s Top-10 Plays, coming in at No. 3 in the Woodpeckers’ game against the Fredericksburg Nationals.

Clinton Reds baseball walks off Terriers

Riding a threegame losing streak into Thursday’s home matchup against the Thomas Terriers, the Clinton Reds (5-16) needed extra innings to complete the comeback and win 9-8.
