Clinton tennis improving throughout season

As the season nears the end for the young Clinton Red Tornado tennis team, it had one goal this year of taking steps forward to be a better team in the future.For Coach Phil Veazey, he said even though his team is young, he believes this team has the talent to be a good team later on down the road.

Clinton boys’ golf finishes third in Woodward tourney

With the regular season nearing the end, the Clinton Red Tornado boys’ golf team recorded a topthree finish Monday in the Woodward Tournament.For Coach Brett Caldwell, he said he was glad to see his guys come together and play as well as they did this late in the season.

Clinton girls’ golf headed back to state tourney

As they hunt for a state title, the Clinton Lady Reds golf team punched its ticket to the Class 4A State Golf Tournament after finishing second in the Class 4A Regional Tournament in Elk City.

Fishing reported to be fair throughout Foss Lake

According to the fishing report from Custer County Game Warden Clint Carpenter, on April 20 the water at Foss Lake remained at 3 feet below its normal elevation level, and it also remained in stable condition.The water was clear with the temperature around 55°F throughout the lake.

Clinton boys finish second at conference track meet

As they continue to hunt for postseason action, both Clinton track and field teams headed to Chickasha Tuesday to participate in the Western Conference track meet.The boys’ team finished second with 130 points, while the girls finished eighth with 36 points.

Clinton blows Douglass away on Senior Night

As they looked to celebrate the seniors who helped build up the programs, Clinton only needed the first half in each game to defeat Douglass Tuesday in the Tornado Bowl.The Red Tornadoes (8-5) started slow, but were able to score in droves and take down the Trojans 15-0.

As she prepares to conclude her final year of golf with the Clinton Lady Reds, Rylee Cummins has put pen to paper and will be a member of the Seminole State Lady Trojans next year.For Cummins, she said she is has been training for this moment and is ready to take her game to the next level.
