Starters set for Clinton softball

The starting units for the Clinton High School softball team are set headed into the season opener at 4:15 p.m. Monday at home against Sayre. Although the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered the slow-pitch season in the spring, CHS got plenty of reps this summer.

Former wrestling coach Shawn Finch returning

A highly-successful and familiar face to the Clinton wrestling program is back, with the return of former head coach Shawn Finch after three years at Noble. Finch led Clinton for five years, from 2012-2017.

100-inning game Saturday

The Clinton softball program is putting on its fifth annual 100-inning game fundraiser at 9 a.m. Saturday. The proceeds will go to the program for meals, uniforms, etcetera. Alumni are invited to compete in the extended contest.

Volleyball starts season Tuesday

Clinton volleyball opens the 2020 season at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Erick. The junior varsity Lady Reds will start at that time and the varsity team will follow. CHS celebrates after scoring a point in its scrimmage last week.

CHS football starts practice Monday

Although protocols and rules continue to change during the coronavirus pandemic, the Clinton football team plans to be on the field Monday for its first official practice of the 2020 season. The Red Tornadoes kick everything off with the return of a two-a-day schedule.

Clinton defense, pitching shine

HOBART – Pitching and defense were at the forefront of the Clinton softball team’s split of its summer league doubleheader Monday. The Lady Reds (4-5 record in summer league) played clean defense, logging zero errors and allowing just four total runs across 10 innings.

Clinton competes in scrimmage

Six sets of competitive, scrimmage play gave the Clinton volleyball players and coaches a good look at their roster for the upcoming season Friday at the CHS practice gym.

CMS football equipment checkout Tuesday; physicals Aug. 7

The Clinton Middle School football program is checking out its equipment for the upcoming school year at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday. The eighth graders will pick up their gear first and the seventh graders will follow. Also, the Clinton Public School sent out an email regarding physicals this year.
