Volleyball preseason starts today

The Clinton volleyball team’s second year under head coach Tobi-Rae Barker commences with a pair of scrimmages against Corn Bible Academy and Weatherford, beginning at 9 a.m. this morning at the practice gym. Masks are optional for those attending the games.

Season on Oct. 3

The Great American Conference’s delay of fall sports has moved the SWOSU football team’s season opener against Southeastern Oklahoma State University to 6 p.m., Saturday Oct. 3 at Milam Stadium. The Bulldogs will play an abbreviated, seven-game schedule as of right now too.

All set up to attend college elsewhere, Clinton 2020 graduate and three-year volleyball starter Abigail Acosta decided she wasn’t through with her athletic career. Acosta is joining the first-year Rose State volleyball program as a preferred walk-on this fall.

The OSSAA announced in a zoom meeting Thursday morning that its going to continue forward with Oklahoma fall sports schedule. Oklahoma high school athletics have been on a pause for more than four months since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March.
