Fishing reported to be good at Foss Lake

According to the fishing report from Custer County Game Warden Clint Carpenter, on April 13 the water at Foss Lake had fallen to 3 feet below its normal elevation level, but it remained in stable condition.The water was clear with the temperature around 55°F throughout the lake.

Reds baseball suffers road defeat in Elk City

The Clinton High Reds baseball team (4-15) hit the road Monday to take on the Elk City Elks, where the Reds fell 10-0 in a five-inning run-ruled game.Despite it being a double-digit shutout loss for his team, Coach Kelly Gaunt said he thought his team did better than what the scoreboard read Monday.

Clinton boys track finishes first at home meet

In the comfort of their home turf, both Clinton track and field teams saw success during the Kay Crenshaw Invitational Saturday, as the boys took gold for the day with a score of 208 and the girls finished third with a score of 113.

Clinton Reds baseball sends Altus to kennel

Riding a five-game losing streak into its home game against the Altus Bulldogs Thursday, the Clinton baseball team (4-13) put together a complete game to snap the skid and win 8-2 for its fourth win of the year.

Over the last week, Clinton High School athletics has been busy with games and tournaments across the area.Baseball was swept by Weatherford in the annual “Custer County Conflict” with the Eagles winning 9-8 in Weatherford and 18-1 here at home.

Reds see success at Plainview track meet

The Clinton Red Tornadoes track and field team traveled to Plainview for a meet Monday.The Reds finished third with 80 points, while the Lady Reds finished 14th with 12 points.For Coach Cory Strahorn, he said the boys’ team did well at this event.

Clinton’s Rivera cherishing short time with team

Even though he is the newest member of the Clinton Reds baseball team, senior first baseman Kadon Rivera has quickly found a home on the team.For Rivera, he said in his short time with the team, he has enjoyed every minute of it.“It’s just been great,” he said.
